Ice Cream Sandwich coming to RAZR early 2012 says Motorola

After the two major Android announcements (three if you’re counting the Galaxy Nexus and Ice Cream Sandwich as two separate announcements) today, we know that there is probably quite a few of you out there who are torn between the sexy hardware of the Motorola RAZR and the beautiful Ice Cream Sandwich that’s on the Galaxy Nexus, and can’t choose between the two.

Perhaps this new piece of information might make choosing between the two much less of a challenge for you.

At the European launch of the RAZR held a day after the event in New York, Alain Mutricy, senior vice president portfolio and product management for Motorola, explained that although the RAZR had been designed for, and will be launching on, Android 2.3 Gingerbread, Motorola is planning to roll out Ice Cream Sandwich update for the device at the “start of 2012”.

Mutricy said the ICS update would carry over all the innovations present in the RAZR. He added that a more precise date would be given in the future. We’re looking forward to this.
