More details of upcoming iPhone 5

What you’re looking above is a possible rendering of the upcoming iPhone 5. From now until the rumoured availability in September, we can expect bits and pieces of unverified details of the upcoming model to surface.

Now it is suggested that the iPhone 5 will be a whole new design and should be looking a lot more like an iPod touch than a mere hardware upgrade of the current iPhone 4. It is also mentioned that it will feature a tear drop design as shown above.

Other details that were revealed is that the home button will be enlarged to make way for gestures. This could be a trackpad or perhaps a new finger gesture for specific actions. Next is the screen which is said to be stretched to the edge, which makes it look like a borderless display. If that happens, the screen size could be increased to 3.7″, a 6% increase over the iPhone 4’s 3.5″ display. As a result if it maintains its current 960×640 resolution, the pixel count will be lesser but would still be well above its 300dpi rating for retina display.

With Apple now supporting both CDMA and GSM networks, there’s also a high possibility that the next iPhone would be a world phone – supports both CDMA and GSM with one device. We must stress again that these are still early speculations and we will know more as soon as prototypes begins to surface. For further reading, hit the source link.
