We have a date! CEO Sundar Pichai announces that Google’s next Innovation in the Open event will be delivered on May 18th till the 20th and be held at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View (Google HQ).

Taking to Google+, Pichai mentions that their decision to hold the developer event at the place that started it all off to mark the 10th anniversary of the gathering. And you can bet the 10th conference will have some great innovations to put on stage.

We’re expecting to take a peek at the latest version of Android: 7.0 or N as that was the case in the past two I/Os. Running up to the possible announcement, we discussed the potential names and what the CEO had to say about his mum helping name the upcoming version of Android before. And we’re hoping it’ll be Nutella.

That and the fact that split-screen should natively be supported on N soon – for now, that’s all we have on what’s to be available on Android N but moving closer to May, we’ll have our fingers crossed to see more nibbles left by Google devs.

During the keynote, there’s also bound to be new developments in VR, Android Wear, Project Tango, and other things that the company has been busy with.

Anything that Google has to announce is surely going make waves and you can be sure we’ll be watching the live stream attentively when May rolls around.
