Hot on the heels of the launch of the Sony Xperia Z4/Z3+, rumours are already abound about a new flagship from the Japanese brand. According to sources, the Sony Xperia Z5 is going to be launched in Japan this September, and it is also going to have a fingerprint scanner.
In terms of specs, the device is rumoured to have Qualcomm’s newer Snapdragon 820 SoC under the hood, which has yet to be released. It is expected to come with 4GB RAM and a 21 megapixel Sony Exmor RS IMX230 CMOS camera with 4K video recording support that’s currently found on the Honor 7. On top of that, they apparently were able to squeeze in a massive 4,500mAh battery and a fingerprint scanner on top of all that.
The Xperia Z5 is also apparently going to have companion phones in the form of the Xperia Z5 Compact and Xperia Z5 Ultra, much like the Xperia Z3 series did. So far the specs are really looking great, as expected from a flagship device. Let’s see if it makes an appearance during IFA 2015 in Berlin.
