The Sony Xperia Z3+ runs on Qualcomm’s top of the line Snapdragon 810 which has been notoriously known for its overheating issues. Despite having the newer V2.1 version which claims to have better thermal performance, there were number of users complaining that the Xperia Z3+ still does overheat.

Running the camera apps can be taxing for the processor especially when trying to record 4K videos. However the Xperia Z3+ just struggles to run its AR Mask app beyond 30 seconds. After a couple of temperature warnings, it closes the camera app immediately. Sony Mobile is aware of the issue and a fix is said to be on the way.
It looks like Qualcomm’s overheating woes with its flagship processor are far from over. Just recently, OnePlus had announced that its 2nd generation smart phone will be using the same Snapdragon 810 processor, but it will be running at lower 1.8GHz speeds just to stay cool. Looks like Sony would need to put its Xperia Z3+ processor on a leash for a cooler experience.
