We have reported about some very over the top claims about the upcoming Meizu MX5, from the purported 41 megapixel snapper to the more sensible 5.5 inch screen, but instead we have some new information on the MX5 as well as leaked images of Meizu’s as of yet unreleased Meizu MX5 Pro.
For starters, the device will be launching with a 6 inch QHD display at 2560 x 1400 and the Exynos 7420 processor under the hood . This is a change from the original rumour that claims the device will be sporting an octa-core MediaTek processor that it was supposed to share with the Meizu MX5. But this could be taken as a sign that Meizu really means business considering the same chip is already in the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge.
As far as looks are concerned, the device seems to have a flat glass pane out back as opposed to its smaller more plasticky sibling but it will have the same 20.7/2160p rear snapper as earlier models.
The MX5 Pro is also expected to have more ram than the MX5 which has 3GB RAM under the hood, which could very well mean the device would be packing 4GB RAM.
The Meizu MX5 on the other hand is rumoured to be sporting a smaller 5.5 inch display at full HD resolution, 3GB RAM an an octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 as well as a 2o megapixel main camera and 5 megapixel front snapper.
The devices are expected to launch some time in July.
