Huawei aspires to take on the latest flagships with its new P8 smart phone. Trying to shred off its perception of making cheap phones, the new P8 emphasises on premium build materials and design. In order to provide an upmarket experience from the start, the packaging of the Huawei P8 is quite different from the rest.
Instead of a usual paper box, the latest Huawei Flagship comes in a hard plastic case that opens from the side. Immediately you will see the side of the device, showing off its aluminium frame body that’s only 6.4mm thick.
To recap on the specs, the Huawei P8 for Malaysia with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, which is expandable with microSD up to 128GB. The front gets a 5.2″ Full HD display and it runs on their own Hi Silicon Kirin 930 Octa-Core processor (4xA53 @ 2.0GHz + 4xA53 @1.5GHz). For imaging, there’s a main 4-colour (RGBW) 13MP camera with OIS while selfie duties are handled by its higher 8MP front camera. Powering the P8 is a 2,680mAh capacity battery and it runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box.
While the P8 doesn’t come with any fancy fast charging capabilities, it gets a USB charger that pushes just 1Amp instead of a higher 2Amp output. The Huawei P8 is priced at RM1,799 and it is available for pre-orders at VMall. Check out the unboxing video below.
