If the Sony Xperia C4 isn’t good enough for your selfie needs, you might want to check out their upcoming model that’s codenamed Lavender. Initially speculated with a front facing 13MP shooter, serial leaker @onleaks has revealed more details of its front design.
With Sony implementing its omni-balance design throughout its latest product range, the upcoming selfie-device is looking to stand out with an edge-to-edge display. This is similar to Sharp’s AQUOS Crystal series but Sony is still retaining the top piece for its earpiece and front facing camera. Whether bezels are a bad thing is a separate debate altogether but this new design could be Sony’s new design breakthrough since the Xperia S.
Spec wise, the Lavender internals is quite similar with its current Xperia C4 with a MediaTek MT6752 Octa-Core 64-bit processor with 2GB of RAM. The screen size isn’t confirmed yet but it is likely a full HD unit similar to the C4 and it is said to come with both single SIM and dual-SIM variants.
For taking pictures, the Lavender is said to come with two 13MP cameras and the front claims to be a Sony IMX214 sensor, that’s being used by a significant number of flagship smart phones. If this is true, narcissists can look forward to better looking selfie photos that’s just as good as the main camera. For night shots, there’s also a front facing soft flash as well.
According the source, production of the device has started and it could go on sale by end of June. Who knows this could be launched at the coming Sony events that are held in Taiwan and Hong Kong this week.
