With the original ASUS Padfone S hitting our shores late last year, the most affordable Snapdragon 801 smartphone is getting an upgrade.

As far as specs go, the 5 inch Padfone S Plus will have a Snapdragon 801 quad-core CPU under the hood, with 3GB RAM as well as 64GB internal storage that’s expandable via microSD, 2,300mAh battery and a 13MP rear camera with 4K UHD video recording as well as NFC and IPX 2 water resistance standards.

The smartphone will be retailing for RM 1,099 inclusive of GST, which puts it at RM 200 more than it’s predecessor and subsequently more expensive than the Huawei Honor 6 which within the same league. The only notable difference is the RAM and a storage that’s four times larger than its previous version. The 8.9″ docking station will be sold separately at RM 599, with the optional Bluetooth keyboard retailing at RM 349. The Padfone S Plus will hit the market on 8th April which is but a scant few days away.
