Dell Technologies has introduced its latest specialised field laptops in Malaysia, targeting industrial workers who need extreme durability rather than sleek design.
The lineup includes the fully protected Pro Rugged 13 Extreme and the semi rugged Pro Rugged 14. However, with prices starting well above RM16,000, these machines are clearly built for corporate enterprise budgets rather than everyday consumers.
Dell claims both machines can operate in extreme temperatures ranging from minus 29 to 63 degrees Celsius, featuring options for private 5G mobile networks, Wi Fi 7, and dedicated satellite location tracking
Dell Pro Rugged Laptop pricing and availability

Here is the official pricing for the Dell Pro Rugged lineup in Malaysia:
- Dell Pro Rugged 13 Extreme: RM18,916.24
- Dell Pro Rugged 14: RM16,652.48
For the starting price of RM18,916.24, the base Dell Pro Rugged 13 Extreme comes equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 5 335 vPro processor, 16GB of LPDDR5X memory, 512GB SSD storage, and integrated Intel Graphics.
Meanwhile, the base Dell Pro Rugged 14 at RM16,652.48 includes an Intel Core Ultra 5 335 vPro processor, 16GB of LPCAMM2 memory, 512GB SSD storage, and integrated Intel Graphics.
Customers can customise their orders with Dell with options for higher tier processor, display, graphics, RAM and storage.
Customers can also add 5G connectivity with a Qualcomm Snapdragon X72 eSIM modem which costs an additional RM830, while a secondary 3 cell 53.5Whr battery adds RM291 to the total bill.
Both laptops can be ordered directly from the official online Dell Malaysia store.
Dell Pro Rugged 13 Extreme costs nearly RM19k for heavy duty protection

The Dell Pro Rugged 13 Extreme is a heavy 13 inch laptop designed for harsh outdoor conditions rather than daily portability.
It holds an IP66 rating for dust and high pressure water protection, alongside military standard certifications for drop resistance.
Dell claims it can survive drops from 1.82 metres and turn on in freezing temperatures down to -20 degrees Celsius on battery power.
Despite the small screen, it weighs 2.41 kg, which is significantly heavier than standard ultraportable laptops.
Visuals are handled by a 13.3″ Touch Full HD (1920×1080) display with 1,400 nits brightness for outdoor readability, shielded by Gorilla Glass that supports gloved or wet touch input.

Under the hood, the base model includes an Intel Core Ultra 5 335 vPro processor featuring a dedicated artificial intelligence engine to handle smart tasks, though it can be configured with up to an Intel Core Ultra X7 368H vPro processor for maximum performance.
It offers up to 64GB of memory, up to 2TB removable storage, and Intel Arc graphics on higher tier processor builds.
To keep power running during long shifts, Dell relies on a dual hot swappable battery setup, meaning you can swap batteries without turning off the system.
Physical connectivity includes two Thunderbolt 4 USB C ports, standard USB ports, an Ethernet jack, old school serial ports for industrial equipment, HDMI 2.1, and a customisable expansion bay.
Dell Pro Rugged 14 offers Nvidia graphics but lower water resistance

If you need a slightly larger screen and dedicated graphics, the semi rugged Dell Pro Rugged 14 provides a 14″ 16:10 Non Touch Full HD (1920×1200) display with 1,100 nits brightness.
However, water and dust protection drops to an IP53 rating, meaning it only handles light rain splashes rather than direct water jets.
It withstands drops from up to 0.91 metres, operates down to -20 degrees Celsius, and weighs 2.13 kg.

The base model starts with an Intel Core Ultra 5 335 vPro chip, though buyers can configure the system up to an Intel Core Ultra 7 366H vPro processor.
The main draw here is the option to add a dedicated NVIDIA RTX Pro 500 graphics chip with 6GB memory for heavier 3D tasks and rendering.
Maintenance is easier thanks to modular memory chips supporting up to 64GB RAM alongside removable storage up to 2TB.
Like the 13 inch model, it uses two hot swappable batteries, Wi Fi 7, optional 5G, satellite tracking, car mount vehicle docking support, and legacy ports.
