TNG Digital and Webull Securities Malaysia have joined forces to enable TNG eWallet users to trade international stocks directly through the app’s GOfinance hub.

In case you didn’t know, Webull digital investment platform that arrived in Malaysia on May 2024 as a locally licensed online broker. This company holds a Capital Markets Services Licence from the Securities Commission Malaysia.

Webull allows local investors to trade both Bursa Malaysia and US market securities seamlessly on a single regulated platform. With this partnership, you can now set up a Webull trading account digitally and fund your investments directly using your existing eWallet balance.

Which market does Webull cover?

With the Webull Mini Programme on TNG eWallet, users can get access to US and HK Market Securities as well as CN A Shares, without the need of downloading a separate app.

Besides the full market access, the platform also offers integrated charting tools, real-time market insights, and educational resources designed to simplify the investment process for everyday users.

As a comparison, the full standalone Webull app allows full access on the Bursa Malaysia equities like REITs, Structured Warrants, and ETFs. You can also trade local index futures (FKLI & FKLM) and Crude Palm Oil Futures (FCPO).

Beyond just cash equity markets, the full app lets you access international exchanges (like the CME in the US) to trade Global Futures across commodities, energy (Crude Oil), metals (Gold), foreign exchange (FX), and global index contracts. These functions are unavailable on the Webull Mini Programme.

Plus, the trading tools and platform for the Webull Mini Programme only features a basic mobile interface. This is quite a big difference because the standalone app has 58+ indicators, Level 2 data and a Desktop Terminal

If you open an account today, you can get RM30 worth Apple shares

To mark the launch, eligible users who open a Webull trading account via TNG eWallet, deposit at least RM200, and maintain the funds for 30 days will receive RM30 worth of Apple Inc. fractional shares.

How to create your Webull account on the TNG eWallet app?

First, you can search for Webull in the TNG eWallet app. After reading the consent details, tick the box, then tap “Agree”. You can then tap on “Start Now” to begin.

Then, you will need to set up your Webull password and tap “Open Trading Account” to begin your application. When you are done, fill in your details and submit your application.

There you go! Your application has been submitted.

It’s a tedious process though

The registration is a little tedious as it requires extra details such as your Tax Identification Number (TIN), income, current worth and investment risk appetite.

However, there are no document submission or eKYC verification required when you open the trading account via TNG eWallet.

Do note that it Webull will take 1-3 working days to approve your application.

Webull Mini app is for first time Webull customers only

However, for serious traders, the standalone Webull app offers more markets and functionality. Perhaps the most surprising fact about this feature is that existing users cannot log into their Webull account on the TNG eWallet app.

That’s because the Webull Mini Program inside the TNG eWallet (under GOfinance) is designed specifically for new registrations directly bound to your TNG account.

So, if you are an existing Webull user, you are ineligible for the TNG Mini Program promotions (such as free fractional shares or campaign-specific fee waivers), as those are strictly for first-time account openings done through TNG eWallet.

If you are thinking of opening a second account on the TNG eWallet, you still cannot claim the promotion because Webull’s system links accounts to your unique identity (IC/Passport) and mobile number.
