Alongside the Redmi 17 series, Xiaomi Malaysia has also introduced the Redmi A7.
This is the brand’s latest entry-level 4G smartphone which will be available in Malaysia from September.
Priced below RM500, the Redmi A7 features a large 6.88-inch 120Hz display, a Unisoc T7250 processor and a 5,200mAh battery.

The Redmi A7 is officially priced at RM469 in Malaysia for the sole 3GB RAM and 64GB storage configuration.
When compared to the Redmi A7 Pro, the new device seems to be a downgrade with less RAM, less storage and smaller battery, and it carries a higher price tag.
According to Xiaomi Malaysia, the Redmi A7 will be available starting 15th September 2026. The device will be made available at Xiaomi Stores nationwide, mi.com and Xiaomi’s official stores on Shopee, Lazada and TikTok Shop.
There are three colour options available – Black, Sky Blue and Orchid Purple.

The Redmi A7 gets a large 6.88-inch LCD display pushing a 720p HD+ resolution of 1640×720 pixels and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The screen has a typical brightness of 450 nits and supports DC dimming.
Under the hood, the Redmi A7 runs on a 12nm Unisoc T7250 octa-core processor, paired with 3GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB of eMMC 5.1 storage which is expandable via microSD. It supports memory extension, allowing the 3GB of physical RAM to be expanded virtually to up to 6GB by using the phone’s internal storage.
Despite having a “dual-camera” bump, the Redmi A7 gets a single 13MP f/2.2 main camera with a 1/3.06-inch sensor. Upfront, there’s an 8MP f/2.0 selfie camera that sits on a tear drop notch.
Powering the device is a 5,200mAh battery which supports 15W fast charging. It also gets a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, AI face unlock, dual-band 802.11ac WiFi and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Take note that out of the box, it runs on Android 15 Go Edition.
