Proton e.MAS 5 arrives in Nepal: Priced from RM81k

Proton e.MAS 5 is now officially available in Nepal, which is the EV’s 2nd international market after Singapore. The electric hatchback is also the 2nd Proton e.MAS model in Nepal after the e.MAS 7, which was launched there in March 2025.

Over in Nepal, Proton e.MAS vehicles are being distributed by Proton’s authorised distributor, Jagdamba Motors. The national automaker said that the e.MAS 5 has already received around 200 bookings right on the launch day.

Proton e.MAS 5 Nepal Pricing, Warranty

Just like Malaysia, Proton e.MAS 5 can be obtained in two variants over in Nepal. Here’s the launch promotional price for the EV over there for the first 100 customers:

  • Proton e.MAS 5 Prime: NPR29.99 lakh (~RM80,802)
  • Proton e.MAS 5 Premium: NPR34.99 lakh (~RM94,274)

The standard price for the e.MAS 5 in Nepal is NPR32.99 lakh (~RM88,896) for the Prime variant, while the Premium version costs NPR36.99 lakh (~RM99,674).

Similar to Malaysia, the e.MAS 5 in Nepal comes with a 6-year unlimited mileage warranty. There is a separate 8-year / 160,000km warranty for the car’s high-voltage battery and components.

In general, the specifications of the Proton e.MAS 5 for the Nepalese market is similar to Malaysia. This include all 6 colourways that are available over here such as Marble Cream, Graphite Silver, Slate Grey, Moonstone White, Quartz Rose, and the newly released Jade Green.

Powered by a 40.16kWh LFP battery, the high-spec e.MAS 5 Premium features an 85kW (114hp) motor with 150Nm of torque. The Premium variant is also capable of delivering a WLTP-rated range of 325km.

On the other hand, there is the e.MAS 5 Prime, which is equipped with a 30.12kWh LFP battery alongside a 58kW (78hp) motor with 130Nm of torque. Given its smaller battery capacity, the Prime variant’s range is also much lower at 225km, according to WLTP standards.

In terms of charging, the e.MAS 5 Premium supports DC charging speed of up to 71kW and takes 21 minutes to charge from 30% to 80%. The e.MAS 5 Prime also has the same charging duration even though its DC charging speed is much lower at 53kW.

Both e.MAS 5 variants are equipped with a 6.6kW 1-phase AC onboard charger. It takes around 4.3 hours to charge the e.MAS 5 Prime from 10% to 100% via AC charging, while the e.MAS 5 Premium takes slightly longer at 5.9 hours since it has a larger battery.

Other features that are exclusive to the Premium variant include 16-inch alloy wheels, a 360-degree camera, LED headlights, and a powered tailgate. The Premium variant also has an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) that covers features such as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Forward & Rear Collision Warning (FCW/RCW), Lane Change Assist (LCA), Blind Spot Detection (BSD), and many more.

There are still many features that both e.MAS Premium and Prime share, including 70L frunk, 28L rear underseat storage space, 375L to 1320L of boot space, 14.6-inch full HD infotainment display with Atlas Auto operating system, Android Auto & Apple CarPlay support, integrated live EV charging map, Proton e.MAS App support, leatherette seats, rear-wheel drive setup, and rear multi-link suspension.
