iCaur Malaysia has officially announced its 2nd locally assembled (CKD) model, the iCaur V23 iWD, which will arrive at iCaur showrooms nationwide later this month. The model is now being assembled at Chery Corporate Malaysia’s plant in Shah Alam, just like its sibling, the iCaur i03 iWD.

With the launch of the CKD version, the brand has also trimmed down the V23 lineup in Malaysia to just one variant. Previously, the V23 was made available in 2 versions when the model was launched last November, which included the V23 2WD.

iCaur V23 CKD vs CBU: Are there any changes?

In general, no changes were made to the CKD version of the iCaur V23 iWD. Here’s a top-level look at its specs:

  • Motor setup: Dual motor AWD
  • Total power output: 155kW (208hp) / 292Nm torque
  • 0-100km/h: 7.5 seconds
  • Top speed: 140km/h (electronically limited)
  • Battery: 81.76kWh NMC
  • Range: 430km NEDC / 360km WLTP est
  • Charging: 104kW DC / 6.6kW AC
  • Vehicle-to-Load (V2L): 3.3kW
  • Dimensions: 4,220mm (L) x 1,915mm (W) x 1,845mm (H)
  • Wheelbase: 2,735mm
  • Kerb Weight: 1,820kg
  • Boot space: 234L to 744L + 14.7L in rear storage box

On the inside, this 5-seater SUV gets a single 15.4″ Quad HD 2.5K infotainment display that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.  Built with a 5-link multilink rear suspension setup, the V23 has also been fitted with 21-inch wheels that are wrapped in Chaoyang Radial RP76+ 265/45 tyres.

As showcased during our off-road test, the V23 iWD is pretty capable in rough terrains with a max gradeability of 40% and a ground clearance of 210mm. It also has a max water wading depth of 600mm, approach angle of 42° and departure angle of 41°.

The electric SUV has also been equipped with Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) features which include Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), and Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB). Equipped with 6 airbags, the V23 has also been awarded a 5-star ASEAN NCAP rating.

iCaur V23 CKD price is identical to the CBU version

The price for the iCaur V23 iWD CKD remains the same at RM132,780 OTR, not inclusive of insurance. The EV is available in Army Green, Carbon Crystal Black, Gravel Grey, Slate Silver, Khaki White, and the signature Off-Road Orange.

iCaur Malaysia also continues to offer the V23 Retro Edition accessories kit for RM22,000, which provides the EV with a roof frame & ladder, front grille & trim strip, fender panels, wheel arches, and side steps. Also included with the kit is exterior panel wrapping in orange or green.

Warranty-wise, the iCaur V23 iWD CKD has a 7-year / 150,000km vehicle warranty alongside a 10-year / 20,000km warranty for its EV battery, drive unit, and high-voltage components.

While the EV battery warranty is longer than many other brands out there, the State of Health (SoH) requirement for 1-to-1 replacement is also lower at < 60%. When it was launched in Malaysia last November, the V23 originally came with an 8-year / 160,000km EV battery warranty with a < 70% SoH 1-to-1 replacement policy.
