Preferential Rate and Season Pass for Permanent Residents
Eligible permanent residents of Genting Highlands can register up to two Class 1 vehicles to enjoy a 10% lower rate. Alternatively, they can opt for a six-month season pass scheme which provides unlimited entries into Jalan Genting Highlands via LPR or Lorong Khas.

Permanent residents who are interested, can register the season pass by submitting an application and making the necessary payment. During the application, they will need to attach supporting documents such as their vehicle ownership certificate, Sales & Purchase Agreement (SPA), Quit Rent Bill or Assessment Bill, and a copy of the Electricity bill.
According to the operator, registered vehicles under the resident scheme will not incur charges before 28th June 2026.
The implementation of the road charge comes after an initial trial phase which began on 2nd April 2026, where motorists were required to tap their Touch ‘n Go, debit or credit cards at the gantries without any charges being imposed during the testing period.
Genting Malaysia Group (GenM Group) previously said the private road charge will be introduced to ensure long-term sustainability and uphold safety standards in accordance with the “user pays” principle. It explained that the private road charge provides a balanced and sustainable mechanism to support resurfacing works, slope stabilisation, drainage improvements, monitoring systems, urgent repairs, and responses to force majeure events such as landslides, rockfalls, and severe weather.
It added that without these sustained works, particularly given highland terrain and weather conditions, the Road would be at risk of accelerated deterioration. GenM has appointed LCSB as the operator of the Road and they are responsible for the full spectrum of road management activities, including resurfacing, slope reinforcement, slope monitoring, emergency response, and operational oversight.
