MCash has announced its direct participation in Payments Network Malaysia (PayNet), enabling DuitNow QR payments and DuitNow transfers for its users nationwide. The move marks a shift from operating largely as a standalone eWallet ecosystem to becoming part of Malaysia’s broader interoperable payments infrastructure.

With DuitNow QR, MCash users can now make payments using Malaysia’s unified QR code standard across participating banks, eWallets and merchants. The move expands acceptance beyond MCash-specific merchants to a network that currently supports over 2.5 million merchant touchpoints nationwide, including small businesses, street vendors and major retail chains.

With DuitNow Transfer also now supported, users are able to send funds instantly using mobile numbers or bank account details.

MCash CEO Tee Kean Kang said, “DuitNow QR has become a cornerstone of Malaysia’s digital payment landscape. As the digital economy matures, interoperability is no longer optional, but it is fundamental. By becoming a direct participant in PayNet, we are strengthening our ability to deliver secure, real-time payment and transfer services nationwide. More importantly, this positions MCash as a fully connected player within Malaysia’s national payments framework, reinforcing trust, convenience, and financial inclusion.”

Besides enhancing payments, MCash says its integration with PayNet also supports Malaysia’s broader digital economy development. As the country advances its digital transformation agenda and prepares for key economic and tourism initiatives including Visit Malaysia 2026, interoperable payment infrastructure will be essential in enabling seamless payment experience for both local and international visitors.

It added that the milestone also reinforces the company’s long-term mission of building accessible and inclusive digital financial services that further connect users to Malaysia’s evolving financial ecosystem.

Existing users can download or update their MCash app to access the DuitNow QR and DuitNow Transfer features. MCash is an eWallet brand under MRuncit Commerce Sdn Bhd and it is an E-Money licensee regulated by Bank Negara Malaysia.
