Following Yes’ 5G Advanced launch two months ago, the telco has delivered on its promise to rollout 5G Advanced nationwide on Digital Nasional Berhad’s network before the end of 2025.
Yes 5G is the only Malaysian telco to do so and DNB currently has 82.4% 5G population coverage in the country.
In addition, Yes is also the first telco in Malaysia to offer 5G Advanced on prepaid. The Prepaid plan offers the lowest entry to 5G Advanced with subscription starting from as low as RM10/month.
As usual, Yes 5G offers 5G data with no speed cap all-day, ensuring users can maximise the potential of the network.

To ensure 5G Advanced is accessible for the masses, they have introduced its new Yes 5G Advanced starter pack for only RM10. It offers 20GB of uncapped 5G data with uncapped speed and shared hotspot usage.
The Yes 5G prepaid plans come with 30-day validity and it offers unlimited calls, and unlimited SMS (on-net) within Yes 5G network.
If you need more data, there are other Yes 5G prepaid options as listed below:
- Yes 5G Advanced starter pack (RM10/month) – 20GB 5G Advanced + 4G, shared hotspot

Users can sign up for the plans via the MyYes app and activate it immediately via eSIM. Alternatively, they can pick up the physical Starter Kit at Yes Stores and Yes Authorised Dealers. The starter pack will be available in MyNews and CU outlets starting 22nd December 2025.
To enjoy 5G Advanced, you need to ensure that your device is supported. At the moment, Yes 5G Advanced supports devices from Samsung, Xiaomi, Vivo, Honor, ZTE, Nothing and Realme, and you can check the compatibility list on their website. Unfortunately, iPhone isn’t supported right now.
You will know you’re connected to 5G Advanced when the mobile network name is shown as “Yes 5G advanced” on your device.

YTL Communications CEO Wing K Lee said, “When Yes 5g advanced first launch in October, we upgraded all our postpaid and broadband customers to enjoy the latest world-class 5G technology at no extra cost. Today, we are bringing 5G Advanced to all prepaid customers.”
He added, “Our aim is to ensure that all Malaysians, including today’s most connected and creative users, have affordable access to the latest 5G technology. With this RM10 starter pack, we are removing the barriers for them to stream, game, and create at PALING high quality, anywhere in the country. This marks an important milestone for Malaysia to be an AI-ready digital nation.”
With the latest development, Yes 5G remains the only telco in Malaysia to offer Yes 5G Advanced across postpaid, prepaid and also wireless broadband.

To recap, Yes 5G has enabled 5G SA (standalone) nationwide in Q3 2025. With Yes 5G Advanced, users can enjoy lower latency and more reliable 5G connectivity. In addition, users can also look forward to improved 5G coverage as Yes 5G utilises both 3.5GHz and 700MHz for 5G service.
Since Yes 5G Advanced runs on a 5G Core Network, voice calls are delivered via VoNR (Voice over New Radio). This means your calls will not drop to 4G when there’s an incoming call. At the time of launch in October, Yes 5G is the world’s 9th 5G Advanced network.
Another advantage of Yes 5G Advanced is the ability to offer network slicing which provides users a priority lane for data traffic even in congested situation. At the moment, Yes 5G has yet to introduce its network slicing add-ons for consumers.
