This post is brought to you by sooka.

sooka pulled a lively crowd to Pavilion Bukit Jalil over the weekend as 273 participants took on the sooka Gilerrr Streaming Challenge, a quirky multitasking contest that has now been recognised by the Malaysia Book of Records for the Most Participants in a Streaming Multitasking Challenge.

For sooka, this marked its first large-scale challenge of this kind, and the turnout showed there’s a dedicated audience willing to stream non-stop while pushing through increasingly challenging tasks.

A Day Built Around Chaos, Focus and Constant Streaming

The premise was simple: keep streaming on sooka. But the reality was much harder. Contestants were tested across several rounds designed to break focus.

The challenge started with sooka Says, a rapid-fire instruction game where looking away from the screen meant instant failure. This was followed by a pontianak distraction segment complete with feather tickles and jump scares, a freeze challenge requiring participants to hold specific poses, and a coordination test that involved balancing a can on one hand without interrupting their stream.

Between rounds, the crowd were entertained by performances from Dewi Remaja finalists, Jaguh Rakan Muda contestants, the Top 12 from Astro Star Quest, cast members from Astro Originals and sooka Shorts, as well as artists such as Uriah See, ALPHA, Qasrina Karim, Mierul Aiman and Khai Bahar.

sooka ambassadors Evertts Gomes, Aiman Ameer, Wani Kayrie and Kimberly Chuah also made appearances to engage with fans throughout the day.

A Proton e.MAS 5 for the Winner

After powering through every challenge, the grand prize winner walked away with a Proton e.MAS 5 Prime.

Other winners earned prizes including a Samsung 85-inch QLED Smart TV, iPhone 17 Pro Max, MacBook Air, Samsung gaming monitor, PlayStation 5 Pro, DJI Pocket 3 Creator Combo, Dyson hair dryer, Sony headphones and RM1,000 in JD vouchers.

sooka Shorts Makes Its Debut

The event also served as an early preview for sooka Shorts, sooka’s upcoming microdrama feature launching in December 2025. Built for quick viewing sessions, sooka Shorts will debut with titles like Mandrem, Gadis Dihina Pemilik Empayar, Mak Kau CEO Aku, and Raja Fitnah when it goes live on 12 December 2025.

More Chinese and Korean microdramas are already in development through regional collaborations. Selected episodes will be available for free, while full access will be available for customers on the Entertainment plan and above.
