Unifi is now offering Fibre-to-the-Room (FTTR) which promises faster and more reliable internet connection throughout your home or office premises.

Best of all, the FTTR solution is bundled for free when you sign up for their 1Gbps Unifi Home or Biz fibre broadband plan on a 24 month contract.

With the FTTR solution, you can enjoy ultra fast speeds in every corner of your home with ultra-low latency, and there’s no wall hacking required.

Unifi Home 1Gbps with free FTTR

For Unifi Home, the 1Gbps + FTTR bundle costs RM249/month (RRP: RM289/month) on a 24-month contract. The unlimited broadband plan offers 1Gbps download and 500Mbps upload, free 600 minutes of voice calls to mobile and fixed lines nationwide and a 12 business hour service restoration service.

In terms of equipment, Unifi is bundling a Huawei OptiXstar HG8141XR-10 FTTR hub and a Huawei OptiXstar K662d Mesh Satellite Hub, which are both WiFi 6 enabled.

Also included is the Huawei ATB2119-S-4-XC-UPC FTTR Splitter and a Huawei ATB3116-T-2-XC-UPC Access terminal box (ATB), which are required to connect the Satellite Hub to the Main Hub via a transparent fibre cable.

Depending on the size of your home or the number of rooms, you can add up to 7 extra satellites for wider coverage.

Each WiFi 6 Mesh Satellite Hub will cost you either RM850 for one-time payment or RM40 per month.

For each additional Satellite Hub, they will also provide 1x 30m Transparent Optical Cable, 1x ATB and 1x 1.5m Fibre Patch Cord which connects to the Satellite Hub.

Take note that the bundled FTTR Splitter can only support up to 4 Satellite Hubs. According to Unifi, users who plan to add the 4th and subsequent add-on Hubs, will have to pay an additional RM120 for the Splitter and RM80 for 30m fibre cable.

Unifi Business 1Gbps with free FTTR

Meanwhile, for business owners, the free FTTR bundle is also offered on Unifi Business 1Gbps fibre plan which costs RM319/month (RRP: RM399/month) on a 24-month contract.

The plan also offers unlimited broadband with 1Gbps download and 500Mbps upload, and free voice calls worth RM70 (SVP70).

Similar to the Unifi Home 1Gbps plan with FTTR bundle, the business plan also comes with a FTTR Hub and one Mesh Satellite Hub. If you need to add more, each Satellite Hub will cost either a one-off RM850 or RM40 per month.

For set ups that require more than 3 add-on satellite hubs, you’ll need to pay an additional RM120 for extra Splitter and RM80 for 30m fibre cable.
