After making its debut in Shanghai, China, just a month ago, Vivo’s latest flagship smartphone, the X300 series, has officially made its launch in Malaysia. Consisting of two models — the Vivo X300 and the X300 Pro — these smartphones come with enhancements in areas such as performance, camera, battery, and software.

Vivo X300 & X300 Pro in Malaysia: Pricing & availability

  • Vivo X300 (12GB RAM + 256GB storage) – RM3,599
  • Vivo X300 (16GB RAM + 512GB storage) – RM3,899
  • Vivo X300 Pro (16GB RAM + 512GB storage) – RM4,699

Both the Vivo X300 and X300 Pro also support the Zeiss 2.35x teleconverter lens, which can be purchased at a purchase-with-purchase (PWP) promo price of RM699.

Vivo X300 & X300 Pro quick specs

On the outside, the Vivo X300 series might not look too different from its predecessor, but the brand has refined its edges, giving it a smoother and sleeker look. In terms of display, you get a 6.31″ 120Hz LTPO OLED display on the “regular” X300, pushing a resolution of 2640×1216 pixels, while the X300 Pro gets a larger 6.78″ (2800×1260 pixels) panel.

Powering both devices is the same MediaTek Dimensity 9500 SoC that’s also found at the heart of the Oppo Find X9 series. Imaging-wise, the Vivo X300 continues to feature a camera system that’s been co-developed by Zeiss.

With the non-Pro Vivo X300, you get a 200MP f/1.68 main camera, a 50MP f/2.57 periscope telephoto sensor, and a 50MP f/2.0 ultra-wide-angle shooter. As for selfies, there’s the 50MP f/2.0 front camera.

The X300 Pro, on the other hand, takes a step back in the main shooter department, as compared to its “vanilla” sibling, featuring a 50MP f/1.57 main camera, together with a 50MP ultra-wide-angle snapper.

It’s in the telephoto department where the Pro model shines, offering a 200MP f/2.67 periscope telephoto camera that can do 3.7x optical zoom. If that’s not enough, you can hook the devices up with the Zeiss 2.35x teleconverter that can zoom optically at up to 1,600mm, which can be purchased seperately.

As for battery, you get a 6,040mAh cell with the Vivo X300, and a larger 6,510mAh unit with the Pro model. Both can be charged at 90W via Vivo’s FlashCharge tech, and 40W using a wireless charger.

For software, the Vivo X300 and X300 Pro are the first Vivo smartphones outside of China to run on the brand’s latest OriginOS 6 skin that’s built on top of Android 16. This new UI officially replaces the FunTouch OS that’s been with Vivo smartphones for over a decade.
