Maxis and Amazon Web Services (AWS) just announced a collaboration at the Malaysian Pavilion in MWC 2024, which Maxis is part of. The two companies will work together to push generative AI and 5G to Maxis’s retail, manufacturing, logistics and financial services customers. This is achieved by offering integrated solutions powered by AWS.

For Maxis, the collaboration will focus on customer service enhancements and support offerings for enterprise customers to make faster, more compelling business decisions. Maxis will be able to leverage advanced machine learning enabled by AWS to build, train, and deploy AI models at scale. One of the big focuses will be the training of a language model in Bahasa Melayu to help accelerate the digital transformation for more Malaysian businesses.

“We are pleased to expand our collaboration with AWS to bring next-generation digital capabilities to Malaysian businesses. As the leading integrated telecommunications provider in Malaysia, we look forward to enabling our customers with the power of 5G and Generative AI,” said Goh Seow Eng, Chief Executive Officer of Maxis.

Maxis is currently the first and only telco in Malaysia that is an AWS Advanced Tier Services Partner as well as an AWS Direct Connect Partner. AWS Direct Connect cloud service enables dependable and low-latency performance by linking the customer’s network directly to the AWS cloud.

This collaboration will focus on leveraging advanced 5G and generative AI technologies into real-world business use cases, targeting the retail, manufacturing, logistics and financial services domains, to enable better innovation for Malaysian enterprises. Building on AWS, Maxis will offer integrated solutions for evolving business needs, providing businesses with a competitive edge via technological advancements.
