Ikea wants you to stop using this USB charger immediately

Ikea Malaysia has issued a product recall for its ÅSKSTORM 40W USB charger as a safety precaution. According to the Swedish brand, customers who own the dark grey desktop charger with the article number 60461197, are urged to stop using the charger immediately and to contact Ikea for a full refund.

According to Ikea, the power cable of the ÅSKSTORM 40W USB charger may get damaged or broken, after being wrapped around a charger or bent back and forth after a long period of time. It added that the damaged cable may lead to thermal burns and electric shock, therefore they are issuing a recall for the product.

As shown above, the 40W charger has two USB-A ports and one USB-C port. The USB-C port can deliver up to 30W while the USB-A ports can push up to a maximum of 10W. A detachable cable with a 3-pin plug is also included.

The ÅSKSTORM 40W USB charger dark grey can be identified by looking at the label which carries the model number ICPSW5-40-1. You can find it on the backside of the USB charger.

How to seek a refund for the ÅSKSTORM 40W USB charger?

If you own this specific charger, you can get a full refund by returning it to any Ikea store at the Exchanges & Returns counter. According to Ikea Malaysia, you are not required to show proof of purchase or receipt for the charger.
