The renowned phone case maker Spigen has seemingly confirmed the new Action Button which has been rumoured as one of the new features for iPhone 15 Pro devices. The teaser came into the limelight just as Apple is gearing up for its Wanderlust launch event that will take place on 13 September at 1 AM Malaysian time.
The Cupertino giant is expected to launch the new iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models that have also been rumoured to carry a USB-C port. Also expected to be announced at the event are Apple Watch Series 9 as well as AirPods with USB-C charging ports.
What is the function of the Action Button on the iPhone 15 Pro?
According to most rumours, the new Action Button on the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro devices can be customized just like its counterpart on the Apple Watch Ultra. Naturally, the features that one can tie to the new button would revolve around phone functionalities.
Among them include muting the phone, activating a Focus mode, turning on the phone’s flashlight, and opening the Camera app. Voice recording, Siri shortcuts, and accessibility settings have also been associated with the new Action Button on iPhone 15 Pro devices.
In case you need another confirmation that the Action Button is exclusive to the Pro devices, take a closer look at the image below which also came from Spigen. You can see the hole in Spigen’s non-Pro iPhone 15 case that is meant for the mute switch.

Spigen’s teaser is certainly not the first that highlights the existence of the new feature. Back in March, the Action Button for iPhone 15 Pro devices was explained in detail by a MacRumours forum member who had previously leaked the details about the Dynamic Island on iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max.
The source has also mentioned a singular volume button with haptic feedback although this contradicts the individual volume buttons on Spigen’s teaser. Then in July, the site found references to the Action Button within iOS 17 beta 4’s code while 9to5Mac encountered additional code inside iOS 17 beta 7 in the following month that might be related to the new feature.
Perhaps, the biggest confirmation when it comes to the feature came from Mark Gurman of Bloomberg who has mentioned the new Action Button in his list of new features that would be announced at Apple’s Wanderlust event. All in all, Spigen’s teaser served as yet another peek at the new feature before tonight’s big launch.
