Besides Digi, Celcom has also introduced a new prepaid offering which allows customers to enjoy 5G without the need of buying extra 5G boosters. Similar to Digi Prepaid Next 5G plan, the new Xpax Prepaid 5G plan also costs RM48/month.
The new Xpax Prepaid 5G which costs RM48/month comes with 35GB of 5G data, unlimited calls to all networks as well as unlimited 4G/5G internet capped at 3Mbps. On top of that, the plan also gets 6GB of hotspot quota.
The 35GB high-speed quota is actually split between the 20GB base quota and the 15GB extra quota that’s offered during the campaign period that’s running from now until 2nd October 2023. The 35GB data quota can’t be used for hotspot and you’ll have to rely on the provided 6GB hotspot quota. The 5G quota also gets a speed cap of 100Mbps, which is similar to Digi. If you sign up for this plan in-store at a Celcom Blue Cube, they are also offering a one-off extra 5GB of high-speed data for the plan.
The biggest difference with the Digi Prepaid Next 5G plan is that Digi offers more high-speed quota at 45GB but the unlimited 3Mbps is only limited to social apps such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram which is given if you enable auto-renewal. However, Digi offers more hotspot quota than Celcom at 10GB/month.
At the time of writing, there’s no specific FAQ and T&C for the plan yet including the fair usage policy for the unlimited 3Mbps internet. For more info, you can visit the Xpax Prepaid 5G plan page.
