Yes 5G has introduced its most affordable 5G postpaid plan yet with its Yes Power 35 plan. Unlike its Yes Infinite plans, the Power 35 plan comes with a fixed high-speed quota which you can fully utilise for hotspot usage.
The Yes Power 35 costs RM35/month and it comes with 100GB of 4G + 5G data with uncapped speeds. It also gets unlimited calls to all networks in Malaysia. For hotspot usage, it shares the same quota as the main 100GB bucket and this is great if you need loads of data to share with other devices.
As a comparison, Yes Infinite Basic which costs RM58/month offers unlimited calls and unlimited data for 4G and 5G, but the hotspot quota is limited to just 20GB. Unless you really utilise more than 100GB a month, this Yes Power 35 plan is pretty much unbeatable for 5G usage. According to the FAQ, your speeds will be throttled to 256kbps once you’ve fully utilised your 100GB quota.
The closest competitor is U Mobile’s U Postpaid 68 which also offers unlimited calls plus 100GB of 4G + 5G data and hotspot for RM68/month. However, U Mobile has one added advantage for frequent travellers as it comes with free 15GB of data for roaming that can be used in 63 countries.
If you want to experience 5G at a lower price, you can go for Yes FT5G Prepaid for RM30/month which offers unlimited 5G at uncapped speed and unlimited 4G capped at 7Mbps. The prepaid plan also offered unlimited calls but 4G+5G hotspot usage is now limited to 12GB a month.
