Five months after introducing the Nothing Ear (Stick), the brand known for making “semi-transparent” tech products is now launching its third wireless earbuds called the Nothing Ear (2). This is expected to be the true successor to the Nothing Ear (1) which came with an in-ear design, wireless charging and active noise cancellation.

The Nothing Ear (2) launch is happening on 22nd March at 3:00pm, at 11:00pm Malaysian time. The product reveal can be streamed live on Nothing’s website.

According to their registration of interest page, the Ear (2) boasts having “Better sound. Better clarity. Just better”. Nothing appears to retain its transparent design, but the case seems to be less rounded than the first gen Nothing Ear (1).

The Nothing Ear (1) launched in October 2021 was an interesting pair of wireless earbuds packing impressive design, features and audio quality for just RM499. It boasts up to 4 hours of playback with active noise cancellation (ANC) turned on or up to 5.7 hours without ANC. With the bundled case, you can get up to 24 hours of ANC playback and it charges via USB-C or Qi wireless charging.

The brand released Nothing Ear (stick) in October last year, a supposedly cheaper alternative in a lipstick-looking case with a half-in-ear hard tip design. While it gets larger sound drivers, the Ear (Stick) lacks ANC and wireless charging support. The Ear (Stick) retails for RM469 and eventually, the original Ear (1)’s price was increased to RM599.

For the upcoming Ear (2), we reckon that it will be priced higher than RM599. What do you expect from the new wireless earbuds from Nothing? Let us know in the comments below.
