LG OLED Flex Specs
The LG OLED Flex features a flexible 42″ 4K OLED panel that pushes a resolution of 3840×2160 pixels resolution. It boasts a refresh rate of 120Hz and a 0.1 milisecond response time and low input lag. The screen is powered by an Alpha 9 Gen 5 processor which claims to provide a comfortable viewing experience with various flicker-free and glare-free certifications.
The key highlight is the screen’s ability to bend using presets on the remote control or you can manually change the degree of the curvature in 5% increments across 20 different levels. The LG OLED Flex screen can also be tilted upwards up to 10 degrees or away up to 5 degrees from the user. For the right viewing angle, the screen is also height adjustable up or down by 140mm.
For an optimised gaming experience, the LX3 lets you change the viewable screen size according to the type of game. According to LG, Real Time Strategy (RTS) gamers can use all 42″ of the screen, while first-person shooter (FPS) gamers may want to resize the screen image to 32″ or 27″ to see everything in the game environment at a glance. The screen-resize function can be accessed from the Gaming Dashboard menu. LG says the screen supports Dolby Vision gaming at 4K 120Hz and variable refresh rate (VRR) and auto low latency mode. It is also G-Sync compatible and AMD FreeSync Premium certified for a tear and stutter-free visual experience.
The screen also gets front-facing 40W speakers on the base with Dolby Atmos support. Also included are built-in microphones with an echo-cancellation feature. To level up its gaming credentials, the OLED Flex also features backlight illumination with 5 different lighting modes. There’s even a Sound Sync feature which matches the light effects according to the sound.
The OLED Flex is also a functional TV with support for Digital TV (DVB-T2/T) reception. It features 4x HDMI ports with HDMI 2.1 support, 3x USB ports, RF-in, LAN and SPDIF. In terms of wireless connectivity, it has an IR blaster as well as support for 802.11ax WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0. The screen runs on webOS for Smart TV and you can install third-party apps from the LG Store.
The screen also supports Multi-View mode allowing you to display two different video sources simultaneously while selecting which audio you wish to hear. LG says users can play a PC or a console game while watching YouTube videos streamed from their smartphone at the same time. You can learn more on the official product page.
