Global cross-border digital payment platform, Alipay+, has kicked off its first year-end promo campaign with merchants across Asia and Europe. Users of Touch ‘n Go eWallet, which is part of the Alipay+ network, can enjoy extra discounts and promos at over one million Alipay+ merchants in retail, F&B, tourist attractions and hospitality across major travel destinations including Japan, South Korea, Singapore and various destinations in Europe. Other participating Asian eWallet partners include Alipay HK (Hong Kong), GCash (Philippines), Kakao Pay (South Korea) and TrueMoney (Thailand).

Here’s the list of Alipay+ promos in the participating countries/region:

Japan

Touch ‘n Go eWallet users will receive three coupons upon arrival between 15th December 2022 and 15th February 2023. The three coupons offer a ¥50 discount with a minimum of ¥51 spent, which you can redeem at all local merchants that accept Alipay+ across Japan.

Alipay+ has also introduced merchant-specific coupons which include but are not limited to the following:

  • ¥1,000 OFF with a minimum of ¥5,000 spent at merchants such as Daimaru Department Store, Keio Department Store, Kintetsu Department Store, merchants at Fukuoka Airport, BicCamera stores, and many others.
  • ¥500 OFF with a minimum of ¥3,000 spent at merchants such as Tsuruha Drug Store, Sapporo Drug Store, and many others.

South Korea

Touch ‘n Go eWallet users visiting South Korea from now until the end of December 2022 can redeem digital coupons by using the app to scan the Alipay+ in-store promotion QR code to enjoy instant discounts of up to 10%. The participating merchants include F&B brands like Paris Baguette and Haidilao, retailers such as Daiso and Galleria Department Store, as well as Lotte Duty Free and Shinsegae Duty Free. There are currently over 120,000 merchants in South Korea that accept eWallet payments made via Alipay+.

Singapore

Touch ‘n Go eWallet users visiting Singapore from now until 31st January 2023 will be given three vouchers which can provide extra savings while shopping in the island republic. Here are the three coupons:

  • Coupon 1: SGD 1 off with a minimum of SGD 1.01 spent
  • Coupon 2: SGD 3 off with a minimum of SGD 3.01 spent
  • Coupon 3: SGD 8 off with a minimum of SGD 100 spent

In addition, Alipay+ is extending more promotions at various merchants at Changi Airport and Paragon Shopping centre. From 15th December 2022 until 31st January 2023, Touch ‘n Go eWallet users can enjoy the following deals:

  • Coupon 1: SGD5 off with a minimum of SGD20 spent;
  • Coupon 2: SGD10 off with a minimum of SGD100 spent;
  • Coupon 3: SGD18 off with a minimum of SGD200 spent.

Touch ‘n Go eWallet users can also claim SGD 2 off for ComfortDelgro Taxi rides in Singapore with a minimum spend of SGD 2.01.

Each Touch ‘n Go eWallet user can redeem up to three coupons during the campaign period.

Europe

Alipay+ has also rolled out various promotions with local merchants in France, UK, Italy and Germany. This includes Printemps in France and city-wide vending machines in Milan, Rome and Venice. Touch ‘n Go eWallet users can enjoy instant discounts of up to EUR 10 from now until 31st January 2023 when paying using the eWallet at participating outlets.

According to Alipay+, Printemps in France offers a special 5% store-wide instant discount and free bubble tea voucher at the Printemps Haussmann store. Touch ‘n Go eWallet users are advised to visit the store information desks to check for specific deals.

As of November 2022, Alipay+ has 2.5 million merchants which cover regional and global digital entertainment providers, lifestyle services, eCommerce platforms and a variety of brick-and-mortar businesses in major airports, shopping centres, duty free shops, convenience stores, cafes, restaurants and tourism facilities. The global merchant network includes over 1,000 online platforms, more than 10 major airports, over 90,000 convenience stores, over 360,000 restaurants, nearly 200,000 taxis and major hotel brands, department stores, duty-free shops and tourist facilities in Asia and Europe.

As announced last month, Touch ‘n Go eWallet is the first Malaysian eWallet accepted in mainland China. However, take note that Alipay+ is different from Alipay eWallet in China. If you’re using Touch ‘n Go eWallet or an Alipay+ partner eWallet, you can only pay at merchants that display the Alipay+ sign.
