Mobile informant @evleaks has just shared probably the first leaked press image of the upcoming HTC M8. This time it is shown together with a protective case which could be an enhanced version of its Double Dip case. There’s no pictures of the back for now but we can somewhat conclude that the new M8 will not be radically different from its current HTC One.

The new model will still feature its signature Boom Sound front stereo speakers and sleek looks. Meanwhile the HTC branding is still present at the bottom but lacks the Home and Back capacitive buttons in favour for on-screen virtual buttons. Over at the top, you’ll notice that the 2 proximity sensors have been moved from the left to the right, just next to its front facing camera which could be a larger 5MP unit.

In terms of official naming, @evleaks has dismissed suggestions of HTC One+ or HTC One 2 and claims that it will be simply called as “The All new One”. Somehow that sounds quite a mouthful for a phone model and we probably call it HTC One (2014 Edition) for simplicity sake. Colour wise, the new One is said to come in 3 options – Grey, Silver and Gold. The good looking polished aluminium M8 which we saw could probably be the Silver colour version.

The new HTC One won’t be revealed at Barcelona next week. Instead, it will be launched at a separate HTC event that’s happening on 25th of March. The launch date also appears to be confirmed by the date shown on the device above.
