Xiaomi’s independent brand Poco has announced a global event to introduce its new smartphones. From the looks of it, this could be the Poco X3 Pro and the Poco F3.

The launch is happening on Monday, 22nd March at 8pm (Malaysian time). You can catch the event live on Facebook and YouTube. Looking at the past launches, we reckon that the new Poco devices would go on sale in Malaysia shortly after the global announcement.

Poco X3 Pro

The first device is said to be the Poco X3 Pro, which is a step up from its popular Poco X3 NFC. In India, the device is teased to launch on the 30th March, which is slightly over a week after the global event.

[Exclusive] POCO is indeed launching the POCO X3 Pro and the POCO F3 globally very soon
Launch could very well happen in March. POCO F3 = Redmi K40
Plus, as per my source, the X3 Pro could likely feature a SD860 processor, 120Hz FHD+, around 5200mAh battery.#POCOX3Pro #POCOF3

In terms of specs, the X3 Pro is said to feature a Full HD+ 120Hz display and a large 5,200mAh battery, which is similar to the current X3 NFC. However, it is speculated to run on a more powerful Snapdragon 860 processor but it would only supports 4G LTE connectivity.

Poco F3

Meanwhile, the Poco F3 is rumoured to be a rebadged Redmi K40. The K40 was recently launched in China with a Snapdragon 870 processor that comes with 5G support. As reported earlier, the Snapdragon 870 is essentially an overclocked Snapdragon 865+ which should offer pretty good flagship performance at a lower price point.

The Poco F3 is expected to come with a 6.67″ Full HD+ AMOLED display that also pushes a 120Hz refresh rate. Powering the device is a 4,520mAh battery and it also supports 33W fast charging.

In China, the base Redmi K40 with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage is priced at CNY1,999 (about RM1,264) while the top-spec 12GB RAM and 256GB storage option is priced at CNY 2,699 (about RM1,707). More info about these two new devices will be revealed next Monday and hopefully we will know about its pricing and availability details for the Malaysian market.
