COVID-19: New cases jump to 4,094 today, total active cases now 43,192

Malaysia has recorded 4,094 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 198,208. There are 10 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 717.

The Ministry of Health has reported 3,281 new recoveries and a total of 154,299 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 77.9% while the mortality rate is 0.4%.

There are currently 43,192 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 303 are in ICU while 118 require respiratory support.

Out of the 4,094 new cases today, 8 are imported while 4,086 are transmitted locally. Selangor reported the most with 1,577 new cases, followed by Johor with 717 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 678 cases, Sabah with 282 cases and Sarawak with 171 cases.

The Ministry of Health has identified 9 new clusters today and 5 are workplace related. Below is the full list of new COVID-19 clusters:

A total of 89 active clusters have recorded new cases today. The Hentian cluster reported the most with 88 new clusters, followed by Pasar cluster with 73 cases while Jalan Faizal and Jalan Playar clusters both recorded 45 cases each.
