COVID-19: Malaysia records more recoveries than new cases for 3 straight days

Malaysia has recorded 3,048 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 186,849. There are 11 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 689.

The Ministry of Health has reported 3,638 new recoveries and a total of 145,084 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 77.7% while the mortality rate is now 0.4%. Today marks the third straight day of recording more recoveries than new cases.

There are currently 41,076 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 261 are in ICU while 101 require respiratory support.

Out of the 3,048 new cases today, 8 are imported while 3,040 are transmitted locally. Selangor records the most with 1,035 new cases, followed by Johor with 529 cases, Sabah with 348 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 305 cases and Sarawak with 120 cases.

The Ministry of Health has identified 13 new clusters today and below is the full list:

A total of 84 active clusters have recorded new COVID-19 cases today. The Jalan Seroja cluster recorded the most with 81 new cases, followed by Pasai cluster with 56 cases and Beringin cluster with 48 cases.
