GoPro has announced 56 winners of their third annual Million Dollar Challenge—prizing them with USD 17,857 (RM72,276.21) each. GoPro also dropped their third highlight reel of winners’ entries, showcasing some of the coolest things you can do with the new GoPro Hero 9 Black in 4K.
“The Million Dollar challenge is where we ask our customers to show us what they can do with our newest flagship camera, in this case Hero 9 Black. It’s also our chance to give back to the GoPro community in a big way. Our community powers our brand and we love celebrating their creativity with the Million Dollar Challenge video and the signification cash prizes that help them pursue their passions even further,” says GoPro founder and CEO Nicholas Woodman.
This year, after giving creators 80 days to capture their best footage with the GoPro Hero 9 Black, GoPro logged more than 29,000 submissions from 125 countries. The team then spent more than 250 hours reviewing every clip to make the final selections.

The previous Million Dollar Challenge contest results was announced on February of this year. Two Malaysians ended up winning that contest amongst 43 others, including TV host Baki Zainal. However, after checking this year’s list, I did not see any Malaysians winning this year, but there’s always next year.
GoPro’s Million Dollar Challenge is an annual contest. If you want to enter your own footage for next time, check their site for details like the footage guidelines. But guidelines might change for the next one.
