The National Security Council has announced that the current Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) has been extended for Sabah, Kuala Lumpur and Selangor for another 2 weeks until 20th December 2020. This is due to the high number of new COVID-19 cases reported in recent weeks.
However, the government has announced that CMCO will end on 6th December in selected areas and this include Federal Territories of Putrajaya and Labuan. In Selangor, the CMCO will be lifted only for the districts of Kuala Selangor, Sabak Bernam and Hulu Selangor.
In Perak, CMCO will also end on 6th December except for the districts of Kinta, Mukim Teja and Mukim Changkat Jong. In Johor, CMCO is also lifted on the same day but only for the Mersing district.
CMCO in other districts in Johor such as Johor Bahru, Batu Pahat and Kulai have been extended by 2 weeks until 20th December 2020.
In Negeri Sembilan, the CMCO will end statewide on 6th December except for Seremban and Port Dickson, while Kelantan will end its CMCO except for Kota Bharu, Pasir Mas, Machang and Tanah Merah. In Penang, the CMCO will also end on the 6th of December except for Mukim 12 (Barat Daya district) and Mukim 13 (Timur Laut district).
The EMCO (PKPD) in Perak will end on the 5th December for Zon B & Zone C, Taman Meru C in Ipoh. However, EMCO in Mukim 13 and Timur Laut in Penang will be enforced from 7th to 20th December 2020.
Despite the extension of CMCO, Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has announced that interdistrict and interstate travel restrictions will be lifted from 7th December 2020. There won’t be any police roadblocks at state borders but the police will continue to monitor for SOP compliance.
