If you’re a Celcom Postpaid customer, you would have probably received an SMS about a quota upgrade. It appears that the blue telco is now offering at least 10GB of extra data for its loyal postpaid users.
Celcom has not made any official announcement but it seems to be applicable to subscribers on the older Celcom First postpaid and the current Celcom Mega Internet plans.
From what we know, users on the base Celcom Mega postpaid plan which currently offers unlimited calls and 30GB of data at RM80/month, are being upgraded to 40GB of quota at no extra cost.
Meanwhile, Celcom Gold Supreme plan users will be upgraded from 25GB weekday + 25GB weekend data to 35GB weekday + 35GB weekend data. In another example, Celcom Mobile Gold Plus subscribers will have their quota upgraded from 40GB to 50GB. The SMS indicates that the changes will be reflected starting on your next bill and there will be no additional cost or fees.
A couple of weeks ago, Celcom had upgraded its XP Lite Postpaid plan with free unlimited YouTube quota. The unlimited quota is only offered to customers that subscribe to the M Pass (RM38/month) and the L Pass (RM58/month). Users on the M pass can enjoy unlimited YouTube at standard definition at 480p while L pass users can stream at high definition of 720p.
Last month, Maxis has also upgraded its postpaid plans with more quota and they have gotten rid of its weekday and weekend data split. Maxis Postpaid 98 customers now enjoy 40GB of all-day data for RM98/month.
If you’re a Celcom postpaid customer, do let us know if you’ve received a message about the free quota upgrade.
