The Dyson Corrale is now available in Malaysia. Here’s why it’s different from other hair straighteners

We’ve reported earlier in March of how Dyson released its third hair product, the Dyson Corrale straightener, after seven years of development and over RM136 million spent on research and development. Now, it is finally available in Malaysia.

Why the Corrale is unique

What sets the Dycon Corrale apart from other hair straighteners is its flexing plate technology. The flexing plate has the capacity to keep all the hair in one place rather than a solid plate.

Usually, to straighten hair, a combination of heat, tension and control is required. Flat plate straighteners can only apple heat and tension to the thickest part of the tress and leaves the edges untreated.

“We discovered that if the plates could conform to the precise profile of the tress, than with each pass we could apply the correct tension to all hair strands… We simply do not need the heat that others apply… The Dyson Corrale straightener elevates styling results, while dramatically reducing heat damage on hair,” said Founder James Dyson.

The Corrale comes with three heat settings, 165°C (330°F), 185°C (365°F) and 210°C (410°F). The heat settings depend entirely on the user’s hair and the type of heat it needs—which James Dyson explains in his launch video (which can be viewed above).

The straightener can be used with the cord, but it can also be used cordless—as it comes with the charging dock, and a magnetic 360 degree charging cable. It fully recharges in 70 minutes and provides up to 30 minutes of styling. You can also take the Corrale on a plane as it comes with a flight mode feature, which disconnects the battery which makes it compliant with air travel standards.

The Dyson Corrale is available in two colours—Purple/Black and Iron/Fuschia. They are available at dyson.my or at select Dyson stores nationwide for RM2,199.
