Xiaomi has announced a new Poco smartphone in India and it’s their mid-range Poco M2 Pro. As expected, the device is a rebadge of a Redmi Note 9 Pro in India which is similar to the Redmi Note 9S in Malaysia.
In India, the Poco M2 Pro is officially priced at INR 16,999 (about RM969) and it comes with 6GB RAM + 128GB storage. The device will go on sale starting 14th July at 12pm on Flipkart.
The exterior design of the phone is identical to the Redmi Note 9 Pro/9S but it gets a dual-tone treatment. It is available in 3 colours – Out of the Blue, Green and Greener and Two Shades of Black.
Like the Redmi Note 9 Pro or 9S, it features a 6.67″ Full HD+ display and it runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor. It uses LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.1 storage. In the camera department, it gets a quad-camera setup that’s arranged in a 2×2 array. It features a 48MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle shooter, a 5MP macro camera and a 2MP camera for depth sensing. For selfies, the punch-hole on the screen houses a 16MP selfie camera.
Powering the device is a generous 5,000mAh battery and it supports 33W fast charging via USB-C. Also included is a 33W fast charger out of the box and the device still retains a 3.5mm headphone jack. The device also features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and it comes with P2i splash-proof coating that protects it from accidental spills.
