ICYMI #115: Mate 20 Pro Moon Mode, Full Refund for Huawei devices, No toll during off-peak and more!

Huawei is rolling out EMUI 9.1 for the Mate 20 series, which will bring Moon Mode and more features to certain devices. If you’re thinking of getting a Huawei smartphone, DirectD is also offering full refunds for new Huawei purchases that lose access to Google services and apps. And the Ministry of Finance will be implementing a new congestion charge system soon, while Telekom Malaysia is working on improving Streamyx issues.

Huawei rolling out EMUI 9.1 for Mate 20 devices on 27 June

Huawei has announced that the latest EMUI 9.1 update will be released for the Mate 20 series: the Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20 X, and Mate 20. This will include features such as GPU Turbo 3.0, as well as a new file system. Interestingly, Moon Mode will only be made available to the Mate 20 Pro and the Mate 20 X with EMUI 9.1.

No toll on LDP, Sprint, Kesas and SMART during off-peak hours with new congestion charge system

After the Ministry of Finance’s acquisition of 4 major highways, that there will be a new highway congestion charge system for the LDP, Sprint, Kesas and SMART highways. Drivers can look forward to discounts of up to 30% outside peak hours, while the Ministry of Finance is predicting that commuters will save up to RM180 million per year with the new system.

MCMC awaiting TM‘s proposal to improve Streamyx

Ah, Streamyx. Recently, the Communications and Multimedia Minister requested for TM to submit a proposal on their plans to improve Streamyx. Users have long complained of slow speeds and high prices, so we look forward to that. More details here.
