During the introduction of the Redmi Note 7, Xiaomi has positioned its Redmi lineup as an independent sub-brand. The Redmi name is often associated with entry to mid-range smartphones but it appears that Xiaomi will be unveiling its first Redmi flagship which comes with a pop-up selfie camera.

In conjunction with the latest Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame movie, Redmi has shared a teaser showcasing their lineup of smartphones. Towards the end, it teases a new product that features an edge to edge full-screen smartphone that has an off-centre motorised pop-up front camera. If you look closely, it still retains an earpiece speaker grill on top.

The video doesn’t tell much about the specs but it is expected to come with a Snapdragon 855 processor. It was earlier speculated that the new Redmi flagship could come with a 6.39″ Full HD+ display and it has triple cameras at the rear consisting of a 48MP + 8MP + 13MP setup.

Another possibility is that the upcoming device could be running on the latest Snapdragon 730G processor as hinted by Xiaomi India CEO. At the moment, Xiaomi has two Snapdragon 855-powered smartphones – The Xiaomi Mi 9 and the Mi MIX 3 5G. We also expect a new Pocophone F1 successor and possibly an updated Mi MIX 3S to be released this year with the same flagship processor.
