Huawei’s new selfie-centric superstar, the Nova 3i is now available throughout Malaysia. This is their mid-range smartphone which succeeds the popular Nova 2i, To bring its photography capabilities up a notch, the latest Nova series also comes with 4 cameras that are now enhanced with AI features.
To commemorate its first sale in Malaysia, Huawei had organised a Nova 3i roadshow at IOI City Mall in Putrajaya. According to Huawei, over 1,000 customers had lined up at the event and the queue had started as early as 8:00AM this morning.
The first 1,000 customers had also walked away with prizes and rewards worth up to RM1,000. This include a Huawei Bluetooth earpiece, a Huawei A2 Band, a Nerd Unit T-shirt plus other co-branded partner offers.
The Huawei Nova 3i is officially priced in Malaysia at RM1,249. It features a 6.3″ Full HD+ display with a notch and under the hood is a brand new 12nm Kirin 710 processor that’s paired with 4GB of RAM. There’s 128GB of onboard storage which is double the capacity of the previous Nova 2i. If you need more, it’s still expandable via microSD of up to 128GB.
In the imaging department, the Nova 3i has a 16MP + 2MP dual-camera combo at the rear while the front comes with a 24MP + 2MP dual-selfie camera with AI recognition and HDR Pro feature. For added fun, the Nova 3i also gets 3D Qmojis where you can turn yourself into an animated character that mimics your facial expressions.
Powering the device is a 3,340mAh battery which charges via microUSB. It’s available in two-tone Iris Purple, White and Black. For those who are looking for something more powerful, the Nova 3 with flagship hardware will be available starting from 17 August 2018. The Nova 3 is priced at RM1,899 and it comes in Iris Purple, Black and Red.
