Huawei Malaysia and CelcomDigi have entered into a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen digital capabilities across the telecommunications operator’s workforce.
Under the agreement, CelcomDigi employees will gain exposure to emerging technologies, innovation frameworks and industry use cases. They will also have opportunities to obtain globally recognised Huawei certifications at associate, professional and expert levels.
Simon Sun, Chief Executive Officer of Huawei Malaysia, said, “Talent is the cornerstone of digital transformation. We are glad to deepen our long-standing partnership with CelcomDigi through this MoU. Drawing on our established global learning practices and proven talent development framework, Huawei Malaysia will co-design practical, business-aligned learning covering executive digital leadership, business growth enablement, enterprise-wide industrial certification and digital transformation ecosystem development. Together, we will translate global best practices into tangible organisational capabilities for CelcomDigi, unlock internal transformation momentum and jointly fuel Malaysia’s sustainable digital development.”
Albern Murty, Chief Executive Officer of CelcomDigi, said, “As technology continues to redefine industries, competitive advantage will increasingly be shaped by an organisation’s ability to learn, adapt and innovate faster than the pace of change. Building these capabilities requires sustained investment in people. At CelcomDigi, we are building a workforce that can thrive in today’s digital economy while helping shape the opportunities of tomorrow. Through this partnership with Huawei Malaysia, we are strengthening the leadership, digital fluency and innovation capabilities.”
Mr Terry He, President of Huawei Asia Pacific, and Azmi Ujang, Chief Human Resources Officer of CelcomDigi, were also present at the MoU signing ceremony.
Under the framework, employees will gain exposure to emerging technology use cases and can pursue Huawei Malaysia certifications across associate, professional and expert levels.
The agreement builds on previous engagements between the two companies, which encompassed leadership programmes, professional certification tracks and technology-sharing sessions. Beyond internal workforce training, both organisations intend for the initiative to help shape future digital services while advancing technological capabilities across Malaysia.
