Alliance Bank announces Apple Pay support: Only for Visa credit cards, offers RM30 launch cashback

Almost 4 years after the feature arrived in Malaysia, Apple Pay is now finally available for Alliance Bank customers. However, only the bank’s Visa credit card holders, including the Visa virtual credit card, have access to the new feature.

Which Alliance Bank cards support Apple Pay?

Alliance Bank currently has 6 Visa credit cards under its wings, according to its official website. In addition to the Visa virtual credit card, the list includes Visa Infinite, Visa Signature for Alliance Privilege, Visa Signature, Visa Platinum, and Visa Basic.

For the physical Alliance Bank Visa credit card, you can add it directly into the Apple Wallet app. Here’s how to do it on an iPhone:

  1. Tap the + symbol on top of the Wallet app
  2. Choose the Debit or Credit Card option
  3. Place your iPhone on the back of the card until it is read. Alternatively, you can also choose the Enter Card Details Manually option to add it through a manual process.

As for the virtual Visa credit card, you can set up Apple Pay through the AllianceOnline mobile app.

Get cashback with Alliance Bank Visa credit cards and Apple Pay

To mark the occasion, Alliance Bank is offering RM30 cashback to customers who enable the Apple Pay feature for their Visa credit cards within the next 14 days.

However, you need to make an Apple Pay transaction of at least RM1,000 to be eligible for the cashback, which will be credited directly to your Alliance Bank Visa credit card. This transaction must be made within 30 days after enabling Apple Pay for the card.
