Yinson Greentech (YGT) has officially launched the latest iteration of the ChargEV mobile app. The Charge Point Operator (CPO) is rolling out the new version to Android and iOS devices from today, 28 July onwards.
YGT said that the revamp was based on the feedback from ChargEV customers, which so far has performed over 1.7 million charging sessions through its platform. The main aim behind the revamp is to make the ChargEV app simpler, more intuitive, and quicker to use, which is being manifested through a new user interface and features.
Among the new features that YGT is rolling out with the revamped ChargEV app is Autocharge, which is something that the CPO has finally opened up to general consumers. Prior to this, only YGT’s commercial fleet customers had access to the Autocharge feature.
With Autocharge, you don’t have to open the ChargEV app in order to activate your charging session. Instead, you can simply plug in your EV or PHEV at a supported ChargEV charger, and the session will begin automatically.
Before you can utilise the new Autocharge feature, you must first complete the onboarding process. Each ChargEV user can enable the Autocharge feature for up to 10 cars, but you must complete the onboarding process individually for each vehicle.
The general onboarding process is quite straightforward:
At the moment, ChargEV Autocharge mainly works on DC chargers, but YGT said that it is already working to enable it on AC chargers as well. The company will also publish the list of compatible vehicles once they roll out the new app later today.
Aside from Autocharge, here are other new features that are available on the newly revamped ChargEV app:
In conjunction with the rollout, YGT is giving away a RM10 launch reward to the 1st 5,000 users who install the newly revamped ChargEV app. This voucher can only be used once at a ChargEV charger and is not valid for chargers that are operated by other CPOs that are roaming within the ChargEV app.
