Looking for a portable 5G Advanced mobile WiFi (MiFi) on the go? Yes 5G has introduced its Yes Mobile WiFi offering which comes with free ZTE 5G Advanced pocket WiFi on a 24-month contract.
With this pocketable solution, you can have your very own Yes 5G Advanced powered WiFi hotspot which can connect up to 10 devices simultaneously.
Similar to Yes 5G Advanced Home WiFi offering, the Yes Mobile WiFi plan offers uncapped 5G data and uncapped speeds with no Fair Usage Policy (FUP) quota limit.
If you’re outside DNB’s 5G coverage areas, the plan also offers 4G connectivity with uncapped speed but there’s a monthly quota of 500GB.
The bundled device is a ZTE U30 Air MiFi (RRP: RM599) which supports both 5G NSA (non-standalone) and SA (standalone) connectivity. It supports dual-band 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi with 2×2 MIMO technology, offering a peak rate of up to 867Mbps.
For ease of connectivity, the ZTE U30 Air MiFi comes with an NFC feature where Android devices can tap on the device to connect seamlessly without entering the password manually. Alternatively, the MiFi also offers wired connectivity via USB-C.
The MiFi can provide connectivity for up to 10 concurrent devices which includes smartphones, tablets, laptops and more. With a built-in 4,500mAh battery, the device is rated to last up to 10 hours on a single charge.
As part of the launch promo, customers can subscribe to Yes 5G’s Mobile WiFi plan for RM58/month (RM61.48 with SST).
If you sign up with a 24-month contract, the MiFi is bundled for free. However, if you opt for the shorter 12-month option, you’ll need to pay RM199 for the device.
Take note that this is a data-only plan and it does not support voice calls or SMS. According to the FAQ, the SIM under Yes Mobile WiFi cannot be used in smartphones and the device is SIM locked and configured to operate on Yes network and devices.
