Dongfeng 007 zooms into Malaysia: Electric sedan with up to 536hp, priced from RM161k

In addition to the Vigo compact SUV, Dongfeng‘s EV lineup in Malaysia now also includes the Dongfeng 007. Over here, customers get to choose between two variants: the 007 Premium and 007 Prime.

Not to be confused with Proton e.MAS tiering scheme, the Prime is the higher-end variant for Dongfeng 007. One of the main reasons is the fact that it features a twin motor, all-wheel drive (AWD) system as opposed to the 007 Premium, which comes with a single motor, rear-wheel drive (RWD) setup.

Dongfeng 007 Malaysia Pricing, Launch Promo

Here’s the pricing for the new Dongfeng 007 in Malaysia:

  • Dongfeng 007 Premium RWD: RM161,000
  • Dongfeng 007 Prime AWD: RM187,000

The pricing above is already inclusive of the RM8,888 launch rebate, although it does not cover related on-the-road fees and insurance. Similar to the Vigo, early adopters of Dongfeng 007 will receive a free ABB wallbox home charger alongside their new EV.

This applies to the 007’s warranty too, as Dongfeng has provided the same warranty policies to the electric sedan, which includes a 6-year unlimited mileage vehicle warranty. There is also an 8-year unlimited mileage warranty for its high-voltage battery and electric powertrain.

In Malaysia, the 007 can be obtained in 4 exterior colours such as the Eclipse Grey, Obsidian Black, Celestial White, and Starlit Silver. The 007 comes standard with a Black interior with White contrast, but if you opt for the Prime AWD model, you can opt for a White interior with Grey contrast too.

Dongfeng 007 Quick Specs

At a glance, you may think that the Dongfeng 007 is around the same size as its rivals, such as BYD Seal and Tesla Model 3. Interestingly enough, 007 is actually a slightly longer, wider, and taller vehicle, as you can see from their physical figures here:

Dongfeng 007

  • Dimensions: 4,880mm (L) x 1,895mm (W) x 1,465mm (H)
  • Wheelbase: 2,915mm

BYD Seal (2025)

  • Dimensions: 4,800mm (L) x 1,875mm (W) x 1,460mm (H)
  • Wheelbase: 2,920mm
  • Boot Space: 400L / 1,440L

Tesla Model 3 (Highland)

  • Wheelbase: 2,875mm
  • Boot Space: 594L / 977L
  • Frunk Space: 88L
  • Kerb Weight: 1,765kg – 1,839kg

Despite having two variants, both 007 Premium and Prime are powered by the same 73.48kWh LFP battery. Both versions also feature the same charging capability, which includes 6.6kW AC charging and DC charging speed of up to 200kW – this allows 007 to be charged from 30% to 80% in 11 minutes.

Built with a rear-mounted 200kW (268hp) electric motor that also produced 310Nm, the 007 Premium can hit 0 – 100km/h in 5.8 seconds. When it comes to range, the 007 Premium can deliver up to 650km of CLTC-rated range or 520km under the more stringent WLTP standards.

On the other hand, the 007 Prime’s range is much shorter at 565km according to the CLTC standards or 389km under WLTP. This does not come as a surprise since the Prime variant consumes more energy as it is equipped with two electric motors.

Furthermore, the 007 Prime has a much higher output than its Premium counterpart at 400kW (536hp) with 620Nm of torque. This allows it to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in just 3.9 seconds.

Other notable features that have been equipped into 007 across both variants include panoramic glass roof, vegan leather upholstery, 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, 15.6-inch infotainment display, Wanos 19-speaker (including a pair in the driver’s headrest) surround audio system, 540-degree camera system, and L2 ADAS.
