The all-new Volvo ES90 is launching in Malaysia very soon and it will be locally assembled (CKD) in Malaysia.

Ahead of its official launch, Volvo Car Malaysia has started its registration of interest and early bird customers can enjoy extra incentives.

The ES90 is not only their first fully electric sedan, but it’s also their most advanced EV to date with an 800V architecture.

Starting from today, you can register their interest for the Volvo ES90 online. As a benefit for registering early, registrants will receive a 2% early-bird incentive for the Volvo ES90 which is limited to the first 100 units booked from now until 31st March 2026.

Volvo Car Malaysia said further details including the available variants and pricing will be announced at a later date.

Volvo Car Malaysia Sales & Marketing Director Patricia Yaw said, “This year, as we mark 60 years since Volvo established its presence in Malaysia, it is especially meaningful to commemorate this milestone with the local assembly of the Volvo ES90, our first fully electric sedan. Built on six decades of experience, customer insight, and ongoing innovation, the ES90 reflects how far we have grown and evolved as a brand. Most importantly, it represents our lasting commitment to the Malaysian customers who have supported and inspired us over the years”.

The ES90 is built on the same SPA2 platform as the Volvo EX90 and the Polestar 3. Utilising an 800V architecture, this EV supports DC fast charging speeds of up to 350kW, which enables quick battery top up from 10-80% in 22 minutes.

Globally, the ES90 is offered in either RWD or AWD variants. The range-topping AWD performance version packs twin motors pushing 500kW (670hp) and and 870Nm of torque, with an impressive 0-100km/h time of 4.0 seconds.

For Malaysia, it appears that we could be getting the single-motor Long Range RWD variant. This version has an output of 333PS (329hp) and 480Nm of torque, along with a 0-100km/h time of 6.6 seconds. The single motor RWD variant is equipped with a 92kWh battery, offering a WLTP-rated range of 651km, which allows you to travel further on a single charge.
