Samsung unveils its Exynos 2600 flagship chipset, world’s first 2nm mobile SoC to debut in the Galaxy S26?

Samsung has just unveiled the Exynos 2600, its latest flagship mobile chipset. Essentially a competitor to the likes of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and MediaTek Dimensity 9500, the Exynos 2600 is also the world’s first mobile chipset built on a 2nm process.

10-core design with 39% performance boost, industry-first HPB heat management tech

The Exynos 2600 features a 10-core CPU based on ARM v9.3 architecture, manufactured using Samsung’s 2nm GAA process. It includes one prime C1-Ultra core clocked at 3.8GHz, three high-performance C1-Pro cores at 3.25GHz, and another six C1-Pro cores clocked at 2.75GHz. All of these result in up to 39% of CPU performance boost.

Handling graphics-related tasks is the Exynos Xclipse 960, which Samsung says delivers double the computing performance compared to its predecessor, and a ray tracing performance improvement of up to 50%. The Exynos 2600’s NPU is also said to deliver an 113% improvement in generative AI performance.

To keep the Exynos 2600 running cool under heavy load, Samsung has designed it with the industry’s first Heat Path Block (HPB) technology. HPB optimises the heat-transfer path, allowing internal heat to dissipate outward more efficiently and helping maintain stable SoC temperatures, while reducing thermal resistance by up to 16%.

In addition, the Samsung Exynos 2600 chipset supports up to LPDDR5X memory, UFS 4.1 storage, and 4K displays at 120Hz. It can also handle a single camera of up to 320MP or a dual-camera setup of 64MP+32MP.

The Samsung Exynos 2600 chipset is expected to debut in Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S26 and S26+ flagship smartphones early next year.
