Smart Malaysia has started the countdown for the upcoming Smart #5 launch. This is the brand’s largest EV yet and it is the first to come with an 800V architecture.

According to their official Facebook page, the Smart #5 Malaysian launch is happening 5 days from now, which falls on Friday, 14th November 2025.

At the time of writing, there’s no indicative pricing just yet for the fully electric SUV. Based on the Smart #1 and Smart #3 pricing, we reckon that it could be priced between RM200,000 to RM270,000.

If you want to be among the first to know about the pricing and launch packages, you can register your interest online.

A few months ago, we had the opportunity to get a preview of the Smart #5. Designed by Mercedes-Benz, the #5 is described as their most versatile vehicle to date.

We’ve been told by Pro-Net that the Smart #5 will be offered in either Premium and Brabus variants first, and the more affordable Pro version with a smaller 400V LFP battery would be released much later.

In terms of specs, the Smart #5 Premium is a RWD model that does 267kW (358hp) and 373Nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0-100km/h in 6.5 seconds, up to a top speed of 200km/h.

Meanwhile, the Smart #5 Brabus is the range-topping AWD model. It has dual motors pushing 475kW (637hp) and 710Nm of torque. This performance SUV can accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 3.8 seconds and has a top speed of 210km/h.

Both Premium and Brabus variants get a huge 100kWh 800V NMC battery that supports up to 400kW DC fast charging. This means you can top up from 10-80% in just 15 minutes with a high-powered DC charger.

Similar to its #1 and #3 models, the #5 Premium and Brabus supports three-phase AC charging up to 22kW which is faster than most EVs in the market.

The Smart #5 Premium offers a WLTP-rated range of 590km, while the dual-motor Brabus variant is shorter at 540km.
