Proton e.MAS 5: It costs less than RM2,500 to maintain this EV for 10 years

Proton e.MAS 5 made its grand debut yesterday with an attractive price tag that starts from RM56,800. As the launch euphoria settles down, it is now time to prepare potential e.MAS 5 owners out there for vehicle maintenance.

Unlike certain EVs like Tesla, e.MAS 5 is one of those EVs that you have to maintain just like ICE vehicles. Fortunately, the service intervals for e.MAS 5 are much longer than its petrol counterparts, which means that the cost to maintain the EV is much lower.

Proton e.MAS 5 Service Schedule and Pricing

Pro-Net has since published the full maintenance schedule, as well as pricing for each service interval, on Proton e.MAS’s official website. Here is what it looks like:

As shown above, the first service for e.MAS 5 takes place on the 3rd month or 5,000km mark, whichever comes first. After that, you only need to service the EV every 12 months or 20,000km.

Overall, it only costs around RM2,493 to service the e.MAS 5 for 10 years. In fact, the 10-year maintenance cost for e.MAS 5 is 31% cheaper than e.MAS 7 (shown above), which is RM3,613 according to the latest information on the website.
