Sony has unveiled its new mid-ranger with the Xperia 10 VII. While the flagship-class Xperia 1 VII retained the same design as its predecessor, the latest Mark VII for the Xperia 10 gets an interesting design tweak.

The camera bump is now different with an horizontally aligned dual camera setup. At first glance, it looks heavily inspired by the Google Pixel series.

The Sony Xperia 10 VII still features a 6.1” OLED display which now pushes 120Hz and 2340×1080 pixels resolution in a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The device still features IP68-rated dust and water resistance, and the display is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2.

It still gets a noticeable forehead and chin, which houses a pair of front facing stereo speakers. Also included is a 3.5mm headphone jack, which is a rare feature these days.

Under the hood, it runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. If you need more storage, it still offers a microSD card slot that supports card up to 2TB.

In the imaging department, the rear gets a dual camera setup consisting of a 50MP f/1.8 main (1/1.56”) camera with OIS and a 13MP f/2.4 ultra-wide angle (1/3.0”) camera.

For selfies, it still retains an 8MP f/2.0 front camera. As expected from an Xperia smartphone, it still comes with a dedicated shutter button.

Connectivity wise, it supports 802.11ax WiFi 6e, Bluetooth 5.4 and 5G. Powering the Xperia 10 VII is a 5,000mAh battery which is said to last up to two days and it supports USB-PD wired charging.

In terms of updates, Sony says the device will get 4 Android OS and 6 years of security updates. So far there’s no pricing and availability details for Malaysia just yet. As a reference, the previous Xperia 10 VI was priced at RM2,199.
